We all struggle in one way or another. Sometimes it’s big, life-changing challenges, and sometimes it’s the quiet weight of regret, the little moments where we wonder if we could have done better, chosen differently, or shown up more fully. The truth is, life isn’t simple, and the heart has its tender places.
After a long weekend of travel, I found myself in one of those tender places. I was tired, replaying the previous days and reflecting on how precious life truly is. At the same time, I was carrying a bit of heaviness, thinking about a decision I had made, one that lingered in my heart, stirring questions of timing, connection, and balance.
So, I decided to take a walk. Sometimes just moving, breathing, and stepping outside helps clear the fog. And that’s when it happened, just as I stepped through the door, I looked to my left, and there it was: a small painted rock with one simple word on it.
Faith
It stopped me in my tracks. The message was clear, and it wasn’t lost on me. The universe always finds a way to whisper (and sometimes shout) reminders that we are never alone. God, our loved ones in spirit, and the very fabric of creation itself continually reach out to support us, guide us, and wrap us in encouragement.
You would think I would know this by now, with all the miracles, blessings, and beautiful moments I’ve been privileged to witness in this work. Yet even I need reminders. Even I sometimes forget to lean into trust rather than fear, into grace rather than guilt. That little rock wasn’t just a coincidence, it was a nudge, a reminder that faith is not about having every answer or making every perfect choice. It’s about trusting that even in our missteps, we are divinely guided.
The signs are always there. The question is, are we willing to see them?
That painted rock reminded me that it’s not about perfection. It’s about presence. It’s about trusting that the love and connections that truly matter won’t be lost because of one decision. And it’s about remembering that when we walk in faith, we never walk alone.
Life will always present us with crossroads, with doubts, with moments of heaviness. But there is always light on the path, a feather, a song, a dream, a rock with a word painted on it. Signs come in all shapes and sizes. Each one is a gentle reminder to breathe, to believe, and to keep going.
Faith is more than a word, it’s an invitation to remember that we are held, guided, and loved beyond measure.
Reflective Question:
Take a quiet moment to think back over the past week. What signs have shown up for you, big or small that reminded you you’re not alone?
Write them down and notice how the universe speaks to you in gentle, unexpected ways.
With warmth and gratitude,
